A former top adviser to Vice President Kamala Harris addressed a major flub that took place during her presidential campaign.

Harris senior campaign adviser Stephanie Cutter said she was shocked when Harris told The View that she wouldn't have done anything different from President Joe Biden during an appearance that took place about one month prior to the November election in a new book by reporters Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes via the New York Post. The then-vice president told the hosts that nothing "comes to mind" when asked to name something she would've done differently than what Biden's administration had done past four years.

“What the hell was that?” Cutter said she thought at the time. “That’s not what we practiced.”

The flub was a defining moment in Harris' campaign, which eventually saw her lose to President Donald Trump in a landslide. Trump's campaign shared the clip with voters on social media and in text messages that same afternoon, with another Harris ally calling it "the money shot" for conservative ad makers in the book.

“And it was her own bad moment," the source added.

“When she gave us the gift of the ‘View’ interview, we were able to anchor her to the Biden administration in her own words, which is something we were trying to do anyway,” a Trump adviser said in the book, according to the New York Post.
